ZAPATA designed the new 93rd AGOW/MSG Headquarters building at Moody AFB, Georgia, to complement an existing adjacent building which overlooks Heritage Park/Austin Ellipse. ZAPATA’s design incorporated architectural features and landscape elements to promote consistency with both the adjacent building and also the overall base. This facility consolidates Operations, Support, Wing Plans, Emergency Operations and Command Post facilities to direct the functions associated with the Combat Search and Rescue Mission on Moody AFB and with geographically separated units. The new headquarters building is a 2-story structure totaling 36,167 SF on a 5.2 acre lot and was constructed as a design-build project. ZAPATA also provided Commissioning and Construction Phase Services including on-site engineering services. The design earned LEED v3 Silver Certification!
The General Plan provides a tool to guide the installation commander and other decision-makers in the long-range development of the base.
ZAPATA performed several mine subsidence investigations for DRMS in support of its Inactive Mine Reclamation Program (IMRP).
